On his 41st birthday, ALS struck. The doctors didn’t feel that Rabbi Yitzi Hurwitz would get past 43. Thank G-d, this week he will celebrate his 50th! Rabbi Yitzi communicates from his bed in LA, inspiring people across the globe with his weekly Parshah messages written painstakingly, letter by letter, through eye-communication software. His visitors are uplifted and infused with a new perspective on life and a desire to soldier on with happiness and gratitude
With his guitar, his dancing, or just his beautiful smile, Rabbi Yitiz’s presence always lit up a room. Together with his Rebbetzin, Rabbi Yitzi and Dina, embarked on a Shlichus of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, and worked heart and soul to establish Chabad of Temecula – bringing the love of Yiddishkeit to so many precious Neshomos.
Rabbi Yitzi has taken his Shlichus to a new level, bringing joy not only to his own community but to the Jewish nation as a whole. Rabbi Yitzi’s Dvar Torah inspires thousands. At times witty, at times poignant, his Divrei Torah has made a difference to the lives of Jews across the globe.
